Dr. Demola Akinyoadeis the pioneer Director of Part-Time Studies, Afe Babalola University. He has over 12-year experience teaching Peace Studies at university level.  He was the founding faculty and acting head of Department of Peace and Development Studies, College of Peace and Social Sciences, Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State where he was pioneer teacher of Peace Studies (2008) at undergraduate level in Nigeria. He had his first degree in Geography and Planning Science from the University of Ado-Ekiti (2001) and obtained Master (2004) and PhD (2015) in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan. He holds Postgraduate Diplomas in Peace Research from the University of Oslo, Norway, and in Applied Dual-use Biosecurity Education from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. He had a Certificate in Federalism from University of Fribourg, Switzerland.

Dr. Akinyoade has 18-year Experience in Training Facilitation. He regularly facilitates trainings for the National Peace Academy of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), the Institut Francais de Reserche en Afrique IFRA, University of Ife Consultancy Services (Unifecs), Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, (ABUAD), Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP),  National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, and Ministry of Defense. His specializations include Peace and Conflict Sensitivity, Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding, Peacebuilding and Development, Alternative Dispute Resolution (especially, Negotiation & Mediation), Policy Analysis and Advocacy, Monitoring and Evaluation, Transforming Communal Conflict, Gender Mainstreaming, Research Methodologies, Networking and Leadership.

Dr. Demola Akinyoade has received many valued scholarships and academic awards from French (2007), Swiss (2007), Norwegian (2008 & 2010), Canadian (2013) and American (2010) governments and other institutions. These include: Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC, 2013) for North-South Participatory Research on Peace and Conflict Impact Assessment; Young African Scholar Field Research Scholarship of, 2007), Swiss Government (Pro-Helvetia) Scholarship (2007), Research Grant (Masters Category) of the Program on Ethnic and Federal Studies (PEFS, 2004), University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Business in Africa/Leap Africa award (2007), and CODESRIA Laureate (2008)
